The Kenya Maritime Authority is headed by a Director General who is an Ex-Offical of the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors provide oversight on all the matters in the Authority. The Director General is assisted by four senior Manager in charge of the following departments .

1. Maritime Safety Department

2. Commercial Shipping Department

3. Legal Department

4. Finance and Administration department.
